You will know what I mean, the black slight domed oval cover, that goes downhill after 25y! Is anyone selling these?

Someone previously made one out of metal for their car, but you'd need an english wheel as it curves in all directions.

Mines not silicon sealed. I put a rubber seal around the wing part and some edging on the cover, so it's easy to remove. Hasn't leaked...

There's a photo on here somewhere...

Thanks guys, still looking for an original plastic cover, will phone around. Not many engineers around here for hand making a metal cover, that sounds like a very special skill!

That was just a prototype. I always meant to refine it and create some patterns for running off some more. As usual - other things got in the way.
I made a Blender model though smile

P.S. just took a call from Powers, they coincidentally found an unmarked box with just a few of the factory clutch reservoir covers remaining!

Oooh, Gordon, when I first saw your work of art, I hadn't noticed how well you had trimmed the actual hole in the wing.

Could you possibly point me in the direction of the appropriate edging ?

Many thanks,

PJ

Hi Paul,

The original wing on mine had a downward lip - almost as if TVR had intended it to be a gutter, but had formed it the wrong way smile

Cut this off as close to the edge as possible. . .

Then I used the TVR headlight rubber for the edging. https://motaclan.com/product/seal-headlamp-cerbera...

This creates a nice gutter on it's own - so any water running off the wing runs round to the bottom and out again. Place the joint of the seal at the bottom.

How's the project going? Any closer to the road?

You wouldn't need a wheel, you could form it out of aluminium sheet with just a sandbag and a domed mallet.

After missing the Nordschleife DE TVR gig, I became very depressed with the whole entity.
I was just about to hang myself from the longest Yardarm this afternoon

THEN

Good Grief !
the HP Banjo pipe end jumped across the inpossible gap and slipped onto its retaining bolt, taking the appropriate washers with it !

REJOICE, REJOICE !

I will now go and consume my own bodyweight in Beer to celebrate.

Almost there.....

.... and it's On ! thumbup

All the very best to you and yours, Sir.
Enjoy a (hopefully) Sunny Sunday.

Why oh why don't I keep my trap shut....
Mounted the Banjo 180° the wrong way round and had to take it apart.

Too upset to drink....

That looks very tidy indeed. Well done. Keep it going.

Just been out for a wee burl in the car myself - so I've got that TVR grin at the moment. Might just join you in a couple of beers.

Your health sir. beer
