Hi all,
What do you think as to the pricing on this one?

2006 car with 80k for £22k.
Too much for my blood but might be cheap. I’m not in the market for one lol
I’m looking at a 2016 Range Rover sport with the same mileage for the same price ? Seems good value to me

I know they're considered modern classics, but that one does seem to be nearly twice the price it should be.Even an XK150 XKR would be quite pricey at that mileage and that's a much better car.

Agree, it's a steel car so potentially rusty underneath, and a really old design, having been replaced by the xk150 about the same year .
It's almost double it's real value in my view.

That's what I thought. There is an almost identical one but coupe over at Arun Pulborough, known for being a bit pricey at only 15k. I wonder who they think is going to pay that? It has a nice interior and is what I am looking for, but I cannot see it being worth more than 15 max. I wonder who they think is going to pay anything near that? They seem reputable people so I wonder what they are thinking?

The service record may well be fully stamped but depending what needs attention the next service might still be eye-watering expensive at a dealership. Approach with caution.

Saw that go through BCA a little while back, from memory it was very obviously rusty so hopefully they've done some very good repairs on it.

Think it got about 10k.

These guys know how to get money from Jaguar beards, I'll give them that.

Might be an old design, but dam, that's a beautiful looking car and example!
Doesn't matter than the 'newer' version is a better car. That's not always the point. Maybe someone just wants this particular shape and version.
That said, I'd agree its steep on price. Maybe if it had 20k miles on it.

Anyone taking a 20 year old Jaguar to the dealership deserves to have their eyes made to water.

I don't see the value.

For comparison I paid £10,500 for my 56 plate, X150 XKR on just under 100k miles back in 2022 and it's undoubtedly going to be a better car.

The X100 XKR-S was rare, if it was genuinely in mint condition and had very low miles (as in, at all - not just for the age) then a collector might be prepared to pay this kind of money but I think this is extremely optimistic. Wasn't surprised in the least to see that it's Swallows that are selling it, though.

As others have said at this money I would be walking and although Niall above says its comparatively rare , rarity doesn't necessarily mean more desirable so you would have to want it . If I were you it would be the later X150 I would be buying . None of those dreaded box sections and a far better driving dynamic .

Here's a later X150 4.2 XKR-S, with 20k fewer miles showing and is the alloy-body model so won't be full of rust. It's also nearly £500 cheaper. If I had ~£23k to blow on a Jag and wanted something rare and a bit special to actually use and enjoy then it would be this all day long.

Someone please buy this before I go and do something my wife will make me regret.
