Finally getting my V8S tomorrow !

Thanks Pies, good advice - my 3.9 V8 Westie taught me a thing or two about Rwd in the wet.

Spooky reference to the Cobra, my mate and I have chopped in a Cobra and Westie for a Chim and V8S respectively. Kit cars are fantastic but real doors and windows make the TVR's a bit more useable.

I need to go back and read the thread on tyres. I'm not sure what brand I'm getting but I'm pretty sure they are two different pairs front & rear - might need changing.

I have bridgestone potenza's on the back, and michelin pilots on the front.

Found out recently that if you have different types then make sure the softer side walled ones are on the front. With the level of torque through the rears it can be very interesting if they are made of jelly .

Small world. Changed my Westie for a metallic Grey V8S, best thing I've done for a long while. Had mine about 4 months now, and LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it .

Was very tempted to go for an SEiGHT but common sense prevailed. Get more use out of the Tiv than I ever did the Westie, and my better half will actually ride in it and loves it. Mind you that could be the big flaw in my reasoning.

By the way is Chrisbin the other convert?

Pirellis on the back Toyos on the front - it's a bit twitchy and tramlines a bit but I know I've got to strip and rebuild the front end first as it's a bit loose.

The Pirelli tyres have not had a good press on here, see other tyre threads. Harry is right to suggest harder sidewalled tyres on the back. Some one mentioned that there are still Bridgestone tyres available in W rating, not Z. If you are going to swop the tyres on the back look at these and run it by the insurance company over the change in rating.

Personally I have Bridgestone SO3 on the back and Goodyear F1 on the front. I find that this combination is the best I have tried so far (see me other threads on tyres.)

As posted elsewhere - I was treated to a late night thunder through the Lea Valley Tunnel on the M25 on the way home from picking up the car - what a fantastic first blast!
