Have (finally) narrowed down my choice but am hearing mixed reviews about the Q4.

It's mainly for my commuting but also general family use (shopping, visiting friends, kids chauffeur duties etc.) so nothing special.

I may stick a towbar on for a bike rack if that makes a difference?

Best range would be ideal but then again I get free charging at work so not too worried. They both are approx. 300 miles

Anyone got any thoughts?

The Enyaq is a far better resolved, economical and practical car than the other MEB platform siblings.

ID.7 Tourer getting decent reviews on various websites. Supposedly the ‘best yet’ EV from VW.

Bigger boot and longer range than the Q4 and (although I’ve got an SUV!) I prefer estates, so that would be my choice.

I would go ID7 tourer cos estate...

Also has some cracking lease deals on them at the moment if that influences the choice, could run one for a few years without worrying about losing your shirt residually (being discussed in the leasing thread).

ID7 is a bigger car than Q4 though, a segment above I believe - although it is still on a stretched MEB not PPE (Porsche Macan, Q/A6)

I was pretty much certain I was going for an Enyaq. The test drive lasted about 5 minutes before I walked away!

It's one of multiple cars thar points ice cold air at your left arm because of how they've positioned the vents under the big screen, but the real deal breaker was the way it clattered and rattled over the broken road surface outside the dealership!

It's one of those places with multiple dealerships all co-located on the same road, so I'd driven over exactly the same patch of road in a Kia EV9, an EV6 and a Ford Explorer (same platform as the Enyaq) and you barely noticed the rough surface!

I don't know if there was something wrong with the demo car, but I was shocked at how dreadful it was in comparison!

I've now ordered an ID.7.

Interesting I didnt pick up on this post. I did a test drive in the Enyaq and thought there was a strut or something loose on the front left, slow speeds over bumps made it rattle like a mofo.

Have you drive in the ID7? Am tempted tbh as between the Q4/Ionic and it might be the curve ball I need.

Only very briefly, as there weren't any GTXs in the country to drive anyway, but the non GTX felt fine.

I didn't even consider test driving the Ioniq because I really didn't like any of the multiple shades of dullness that make up the only paint options!

Yeah - the estate format has its plus sides too. I am not a fan of the SUV style and I do think you lose capacity in the boot in both the Q4 and Ionic as a result (in comparison to the box approach).

Let me know how easy it is to get a road or MTB in the back of the IS7T. Been looking at these and new Passat or Superb with the 1.5 Ehybrid 207bhp. They do 80 miles on a charge so should be a safe 50-60 IRL.

OP, we've met before when, via a different forum, you ran some diags for me on an L322. If you haven't moved, we live about 15 mins apart.

I have an ID.7 Tourer being delivered on Friday and you'd be more than welcome to have a look around it and we can take it out to see what you think.

Yes I do remember when I was in Wrotham. Now in Addington so just along the A20 by 5 mins or so.

Am waiting on some extra fleet discounts from VW to come through & then I will order up the ID7 Pro S Tourer (I think that's what it's called although it sounds a bit like an iPhone!).

Only hesitation is it's a bit "dad" but then again, that's who I am! Currently driving a demo EX40 which is nice & nippy.

Ah well you're nearer now then, you were in Wrotham last time. I'm near WM so just along the road.

MrsC was/is a bit concerned that it's an "estate" with all the agedness that brings biggrin but I think the estate aspect is fairly subtle anyway. I'm currently in another L322, which will be going shortly, so it will be a major change!

I have been looking at getting an ENYAQ and found this a common complaint: It turns out a lot of them didn't have the transport blocks removed from the front shocks. You have to lift the shock gator to see them, so I wonder if many dealers did a quick inspection and did not notice that the blocks were still there. The few I have driven so far have been okay, certainly no worse than my current V90 R-design.

Q4 owner of 3 years here. It's a bit of a mixed bag really. The range is OK, we get about 230 miles in summer. The interior is quite cheap in places, very plastic, Audi seems to have gone downhill with thier matericals in recent years imo.

We had no air conditioning for about 15 months, eventually a software fix sorted it. The in car entertainment/nav is quite slow. The car isn't particularly well sound proofed either. I'm looking forward to ditching ours and getting into a used iX. If I where you i'd look at used etrons (now rebadged Q8) if going for an Audi, much better car and good value for money imo. Overall the Q4 is not a bad car, but just not great either.
