Last year I foolishly signed a contract with another car forum, beginning in 2006 because I thought they would be better/more popular/faster server/more resources etc, but I now want to stay with "The Gassing Station" because I like it here and it's nicer and better.

The other forum say it will cost me "ten large" ie ten quid to get out of my contract because of all the lost revenue, loss of advertisers, loss of prestige etc and all the members they will lose as a result.

Oh what shall I do ?

The other forum have you over a barrel, and you should not be so naive as to think that things may change in the future,

best option is move across, quit your whinging and get a decent hair cut, oh and it might be useful if you manage to post some decent threads (times/results) for the rest of the year so we know you are worth while being here. I hear some rumours that you might not be all you are cracked up to be. still un proven after all.

Can you not ask 'Gassing Station' if they would be prepared to reimburse you the ten large?

Best to grossly "large up" your posting abilities to all those who know you, then try & get some friends/business aquaintances to "sponsor" you, so that you can raise sufficient monies (i.e about £10) to effectively "buyout" your old contract from the other forum. I think they deserve the £10 though. I've seen most of your posts & I think they originally gave you opportunities to post, way beyond your abilities.

Trouble is, you risk ping off a lot of those people who sponsor you now, if you don't deliver in the future with some really excellent posts. If you don't deliver & quickly, you'll simply go down in history as an underperforming, selfish hasbeen poster.

It sounds though as the first car forum helped you get into forums in the first place & therefore maybe you should have done the honourable thing, shown some loyalty & stayed with them.

Agree with some other posts. Best thing is to get your hair cut, stop trying to pathetically flirt with the media associated with coverage of forums by making stupid references to "bottoms", learn to be a little more eloquent than simply replying "yer, if I all my posts go well, I should be a really top poster" or "yer, if it doesn't rain it should be a really nice dry day for posting", when asked questions on the more technical aspects of posting on a forum.

Are you sure you've made your bloody mind up now and aren't going to start whingeing about how you'd actually have been better off in the other forum after all if they then prove to be better than you thought?

Bor - please don't spoil this by selling out (you earn far, far too much as it is) & telling those who haven't a fk what's going on, who you really are.

This thread was amusing before. Now with the contributions from M1spw & Docevil, its bloody hilarious !

Ahh - shame cat let out the bag - this could have run on a bit longer.

The latest is some Irish fellow who used to own another car forum, before he sold out, has been saying he thinks Bor might have lost a lot of credability.

I realise my behaviour has caused a lot of problems, both for Ted and the other forum owner and I'm sorry for that. I would however, like to thank you all for your advice. I feel I was badly advised in 2004, by some people on this forum in fact, who suggested that I'd have more success in pastures new (IIRC, they said I should " off somewhere else).

Anyway, going forward into posting season 2006, I feel my best chance of becoming top forum member is by staying with PH.

I regret signing for the other forum, but they had a receptionist who was really fit.

And I will cut my hair. No I won't. Yes I will etc etc

Yes, that's right. You fired the wits who badly advised you last time, failed to learn from the experience and ed it all up on your own the second time. Vive la difference!
