The Factory to London

I am now picking up my new Sagaris on Friday morning from the Factory.

Does anyone know a good route from Blackpool to London, avoiding the motorways to help the running in along.

I was thinking about going across to Skipton then down.

The only time I ever go North is M1/A1 or M6.

I realise that a trip via Scotland would make sure my car needs it's first service by the time I get back but I really need to be back the same day.

I'd use the M6 until you get past Manchester. Then take J18 towards Congleton, through towards Leek, Ashbourne, Past Derby, and back down the M1, or continue East and get the A1...

Up the M6 to the Sedburgh turn off (37?). Straight across the Dales via Sedburgh, Hawes, Leyburn, Bedale with a detour to take in the Buttertubs pass. Best countryside in Britain. Then hop onto the A1 and head south (dont get on the M1).

North up the M6, then M74. Turn off at Abingdon then some nice twisties to Edinburgh. Cross the Forth Brdge and turn right. Drop car off with me for a day or two. Drive back down the A68, them A1/M1. Job done, you'll have plenty miles on it by the time you reach London.

Agree with unrepentant. Beware, back road to Hawes is gated - quite a suprise if not expecting them!

Haven't been up there for ages - some to think of it, what am I doing this weekend?

Adrian how have you managed to arrange to collect your car from the factory instead of the dealer?

I'm thinking a nice coastal route all the way down the west side, follow right the way around Wales, down to Lands End, along the south coast up the M23, should see you run in nicely

This looks like a good route! but I might go a bit twisty down the East Coast

There are actually 2 of us as my business partner is doing the same, so if you see 2 Saggys, driving like Miss Daisey is a passenger tomorrow, give us a wave!

I bought it from TVR London and, as the factory have to do the PDI, as they have no techs at the dealer it was an obvious choice.

Take the A roads - the variable speeds will help a lot with the running in.. motorways tend to force you to just stick to the top of your available rev range and does not help the running in process at all..
