Polo Throttle Valve - Help

Bit of help please...

The Mrs' 2021 VW Polo kept going into limp mode with the EPC and Engine Management warning lights flashing on the dash. Diagnostics and investigations from the local garage turned up that it's a fault with the throttle valve. Quoted circa £800 to sort but expecting more from VW dealership.

The car is just out of the 3yr warranty but only done 27k miles. Would this sort of fault be expected? Has anyone had experience of raising a similar issue with VW with a view to them sorting it?

Any help would be appreciated.

Has anyone who looked at it tried cleaning it with some brake cleaner?

It might just be a bit carboned up?

I'd go with trying cleaning 1st also. Had a polo GTi afew years back with similar issues, VW dealer recommending trying cleaning 1st but wasn't sure it would work so gave me the choice. Thankfully it did work. I'd go clean it 1st.
