Door skin delamination
Discussion
I should have taken photo's to explain this a bit better, but my passenger door skin has started to come away from the actual door frame, I assumes it's where the door skin and door were joined at the factory, the split starts are the top of the trailing edge of the door, just where the rubber insert sits, it then drops around around 6 inches along the back of the door. Very lite pressure close the gap.
I was like it when I bought the car and hasn't got any worse since then but it niggles me.
Before I take it to a body shop and they strip the thing apart, I'd like to have a go at gluing it back together myself, any suggestions for a glue, mastic or epoxy that might stick the edges back together.
I'm not precious about the finish, the car isn't pristine, I'm just looking for a cheap quick fix.

Do you mean the fibre glass is coming apart?
I would have thought you'd need something like epoxy resin, or maybe more likely a fibreglass repair kit to use the resin.
Could be worth calling up a bodyshop or two to see if they can give you some advice - maybe one of the more specialist TVR and fibreglass companies. At worst they can shrug you off.

Use a glass fibre resin. Epoxy, polyester or Vinylester. This will be nice and thin so using a syringe you can inject it into the split.
Any of the 'sticks like...' will be too thick to get fully into a fine crack.
Fill the crack and lightly clamp. Clean off excess resin with acetone.

Undoubtedly the correct way to do it but for the "home mechanic" who has neither a syringe, Acetone or resin the Sticks Like is an easy quick fix if the split (which can probably be prised open a tad to squirt a bit in) is nothing major. Easy to apply, easy to clean up afterwards, imho. Any of the 'sticks like...' will be too thick to get fully into a fine crack.
