I have a 2015 RR Sport, and a few years ago the local dealer changed what I recall to be the front seal for the rear differential.

A few months ago,an independent RR specialist told me the differential bearings have gone, and this is likely to have been due to the main dealer changing the seal. The specialist told me it’s difficult to compress some springs properly when changing the seal, but I’m not technical enough to understand it all!

The specialist has recommended changing the diff, either with a new one or a reconditioned one, but I wondered if there are any specialists who could change the bearings? It seems a bit much to spend £4K to change out some bearings, especially if the rest of the differential is good.

I’m based in the North East of Scotland, but would happily travel anywhere in the UK if I could save a couple of grand.

Any recommendations?

Many thanks in advance.

Speak to Mike Park at MMP Land Rover.
Based in Dundee.

Run this past him and I’m sure he will have a cheaper answer for you.
He’s busy though so it could be a couple of months before he can fix it.
