Hi all,

Does anyone have a spare lower dash and dash top for a Chimaera, poor condition preferred as it will be modified/chopped up. I'm looking to do an aircon retrofit and would like to reshape the lower dash to accommodate an aircon unit behind the dash. This will also involve relocating other parts, such as the radio.

Many thanks, Andrew.

I don't but I would be interested to hear how you get on having slow roasted around Europe this year.

That's my reason for wanting to design and install a modern aircon system. I've done most of the miles in my TVR on roadtrips in France, it can be quite unbearable at times, especially going through towns or stuck in traffic. Even if you keep the roof on, the heat just builds up on long drives and there's no escape.

I'll be looking into all aspects of the cooling system, including heat insulation to reduce heat soak into the car, the routing of the vent pipework, and ensuring that all components of the system are up to modern standards. The original AC system in the Chimaera may have been OK at the time, but technology has moved on now. It does mean that I may have to reconfigure the shape and layout dash, but that's not a problem for me.

Once I have a plan, i'll start a new thread with progress updates.

Andrew.

You could try Northeast salvage. They have lots of TVR stuff.
