Hello everyone

I'm currently running 17inch diameter and 7.5inch width OZ wheels with Michelin Cup 225/45/17 tyres (see photos). My question is can the car still accept a 17inch diameter but a wider 8inch width wheel and a wider 235/45/17 tyre without modification?

The reason for the increase in the width of wheel and tyre width is the car will soon receive far more power, c. 300-320bhp.

If there is any doubt I'll stick with the 7.5inch wheel and 225 tyre.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hey Ben, I would think you could go half an inch up you just might need a bit more camber to tuck it under the arch.

Just need to be careful what tyre, i.e. like a Nankang AR1 would come up quite a lot wider in that size.

My wife runs 215/45/17 Toyo Proxes and we had to roll the front arches slightly to avoid fouling on lock. I wouldn't go any larger, but I guess it depends on what offset you have on the wheels and what suspension set up. She runs MeisterR coilovers, but very low.

Be interested to know your plans for it. I quite fancy one but would want to modify it.
