Hi Forum, I am rebuilding a 1992 Griff, which I bought from somebody that had started a body-off rebuild including a conversion from RHD to LHD.

I am progressing with the rebuild, and about to put the plenum-cover (with the wipermechanism and hood-lock) back into its place. Since this plenum-cover seals off (sort of at least) the cavity that holds the defroster-nozzles to the windscreen, I expected to see some sort of ”air-intake” channel to blow air into this cavity…..

I suspect that the heater/fan unit, which was sitting on the LH side of the vehicle and needed to be removed to allow the steering-column to be mounted there, was placed over a ”air-intake”, under the LH side of the windscreen.

Can any of you give me some information?

Very poorly.

It is through quite a convoluted system located in the passenger wing and if you have a 1992 car it will be through valves operated by small servos on the water system above the battery.

I think the actual air gets there through some corrugated pipes that attach to plastic scoops.

Thanks for the information. So if I understand you guys correctly, there is NO piping in the cavity under the wipers (engine-side of the bulkhead). Instead, the cavity is sealed off and air gets blown in through the bulkhead into the cavity, by plastic (home depot plumbing) ducts and hoses coming from the blower unit?

I found the hole in the bulkhead, it was sealed off and now I opened it.

Thanks again!
