Sorry if this has been covered before, I have had a search but couldn't find anything.

Does anyone have any recommendations for insurance companies which are reasonably priced for covering M cars, specifically a new M2?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I went with Swift cover for a new to me f82 m4. There are so many variables of course I really don’t think there are any stand out choices. I managed to get down to £1000 with £1000 excess, 47, decades of no claims. Reasonable Bristol/ North Somerset post code, garage/drive etc.

It was obvious many didn’t want my business as I saw quotes of over £10k on MoneySupermarket

We use BMW Flex Car Insurance. Previously NFU were competitive, too. F90 LCI. SDP & Business. Less than 2k IIRC.

I recently struggled to get cover for lightly modified F97 M2 Comp (Admiral etc refused to cover). Howdens were best.

Don't have an M car but was running Meerkat quotes out of curiosity and got sub £900 with £500 excess for a 69 plate F82 M4 Comp worth about £35k. I'm 49 with about 24 years' no claims and no points.

Thanks for the responses.

The best we're getting at the moment is just over £700, although that is with Admiral and Quote me happy. Not too bad I guess looking at what some of the quotes are.

Some companies can't quote at all as they need the numberplate of the car, which is a bit tricky when we're looking at a brand new, unregistered car.

That doesn't seem too bad.

Insurance cost for my new G87 M2 was just over £600 & i was happy with that & was £300 less than the cost for my previous LCI F90 M5C.

Got our cars (4 of them) with Admiral on a Multicar policy.

With mine being owned by the lease company, options were limited to one of the several Admiral group of companies at c.£700, or paying nearly double elsewhere.

Hope I don't have to claim!

Always worth trying Aviva.

Really quick to run a quote with them too. They’ve generally been cheapest for our previous performance cars. I’ve just ran a couple of quotes for when our G87 M2 arrives, to see if there is much benefit to who will be the named driver. I’m 34 male with 10yrs NCD, wife is 30 with 8yr NCD.

£750 in my name and £850 in hers.

There is a ‘high performance’ excess of £500, but most other companies were quoting at least £1,400 anyway.

I Don't know about the newer models but I got a great quote from Howden at Thatcham in June, but I stayed with Chris Knott as they matched it!

I've also used Adrian Flux, but can't use comparison sites as my Z4M Coupe has some mods, coil-overs, etc.
