Took Mrs Clark out for a drive!!

As the car is now road legal and registered I thought I'd take Mrs Clark out for a drive just to say thanks for the many nights I spent in the garage.
The comedy value was immense :D
I got plenty of:
It's too low
It's too quick (but darling I'm only rev'in it to 4k rpm and it goes MUCH futher)
Slow down (only doing 80mph!)
A couple of screams when it popped!?!
But all in all I think she enjoyed ;)
I'd also like to say thanks to everyone on here that replied to my posts while building the car (especially at the weekends), it was all worthwhile :clap:

You've got a nice car...and 550hp on 990kg? is a fast blast...and the color black, I like that too! its my favorit car color...and sitting next to the driver with no control in a fast car can be a bit scarry in some cases

First (and last!) time I took my wife in my GTR was when she asked for a lift into town for a girls night out. By the time I'd stopped in the middle of town the car was surrounded a couple of rows deep so she had a great audience as she tried to climb over the cill with her high heels on
Today, due to calendar circumstances, I took a female coworker out for a drive one day ahead of when I will take my wife out for her first drive. Hopefully I have not made a basic engineering error here...
The most amusing situation we ran in to was where we came up to a major intersection with 2 forward lanes and one turning lane on each of the 4 junctions to the intersection. We were the first car at the lights in one of the lanes.
The lights going across us went green. But nobody moved. All the drivers and passengers sat there staring at us - maybe 40 or 50 cars in total, nobody moving or paying any attention to the traffic signals. It was the weirdest sensation. I thought that there must be an ambulance or a police car approaching... but no, everyone was just sitting there looking at us.
So tomorrow I should have the chance to take my most beautiful wife out for a drive in the Ultima at last...

Any chance I could help out and take your 'second most beautiful wife' for a spin? Seriously, though, in reference to your colleague, I would use the "don't ask / don't tell policy", if my past experience in the same situation is to be judged from.

So today was the day when I took my lovely wife out for her first ride in the Ultima. It was absolutely wonderful - I got a legitimate squeal of delight as I got onto the interstate in 4th gear and went from maybe 40 to 90 in a few seconds before settling down to something closer to the speed limit (70) in 6th.
I did get the obligatory "it is too low", "it is too fast", comments. But I could tell she had a sparkle in her eye...
Our destination was one of her favourite cafe's. We parked the car outside and went in for Sunday brunch. This was actually the first time I had parked the Ultima in a public place. We got a table where I could watch the car.
The attention it draws is hilarious. People driving by couldn't see it immediately because of the other cars parked near it, but as they passed, brakes jammed on, sometimes they backed up, people got out and checked the car out, and some folks even took photos.
So, we sat there having brunch, and my wife literally said to me - "it has so much power, you really should take it to a race track, and see what it is like to really drive it". Have I married the most perfect woman in the world?? I tied explaining to her that it really is way too much car for my driving skill, and she said, and I quote "but why build such a car if you never experience what it really can do - do one of those racing driving courses and take the instructor with you so it is safe".
I would like to coin a new term - "auto-spousal heaven". It is the rare circumstance where you can drive the best car in the world and you have the best soul mate, at the same time too!

sounds like a nice woman to me...and it sounds like a good cople U2 and the Ultima
