Not yet. I'm led to believe DVLA can be very slow dealing with these things. It's nearly a month since I wrote to them and sent the build date information, original invoice etc so will send a chasing letter next week. It's not something that can be dealt with online.

Immediately below the photo at the top of the first page of this auction listing there is a heading "Description" that's followed by a detailed write-up about the car. All you need to do is click on the link.

Lots of interest in the car today when it was on display at Pistonheads annual service event at Bicester Heritage.

Any more questions - just shout. I'll be happy to answer them.

At the show a question was asked about my V5. It's pictured in the first photo under "Documents" in this listing. In the Special Notes section on page one the key points relating to registration plate and ULEZ are, I believe,
1. Declared manufactured 2015.
2. %CO 0.3 ; 0.2 FI HC 0.02 FI ; lambda 0.97 - 1.03

HI Aquamarine,
The V5C Vehicle Details states the:-
Date of first registration as 01 01 2005!
And
Date of first registration in UK as 20 02 2015!
Prima facie the ship took over 10 years to get from the US.
Should 2005 read 2015?

Precisely, this is why I've asked DVLA to issue a correct "64" registration plate instead of the "54" they recently allocated to the car. The first model year of C7 Corvettes was 2014 so the date of 2005 on the V5 is obviously an error. It was never apparent until a dateless plate was taken off the car.

Trevor, your PistonHeads profile doesn't permit personal messages. Suggest you change that setting and send me a personal message when you've got it sorted out. We can then arrange your viewing.

Note for bidders: Since the car was on display at PistonHeads Annual Service last Sunday I've had an unexpected trip to the dealership.

I was using the car yesterday and it put up a yellow Check Engine Light. It did this in June 2021 at which time the car was taken in to UK dealer Ian Allan – there’s an invoice amongst the auction photos which shows this visit. The car was checked and the dealer's view was that as long as the light goes out after some normal driving it wasn't something that needed to be pursued. Since then the light has occasionally come on and gone away again.

After the light came on yesterday I made my way to Ian Allan (UK dealer) in the afternoon. By the time I got there after a few short journeys the light had already gone out. The code that sometimes sets the light is related to a transmission fluid temperature sensor. The sensor is not a particularly expensive part although they tell me it's located inside the transmission and if it needs to be replaced there would be labour costs as well. Of course, that’s only IF the sensor needed to be replaced.

On a Corvette’s dashboard display one parameter that can be called up and seen by the driver is transmission fluid temperature. Having looked at that yesterday it shows the sensor to be working and fluid temperature moving about within in the normal range. So no overheating fluid or anything like that. Occasions when the light has come on have in fact been shortly after a cold start.

I'm aware we are close to the end of the auction so am mentioning this point so there's no question of a buyer encountering an unexpected problem shortly after buying the car.
