It looks like they are now charging £5 per car and £10 closer to the event. I've been once and I've been underwhelmed both times (quite enjoyed the Scramble though as an afternoon out).

It will be interesting to see if they have the same level of attendance now they are charging.

Do you get anything for the money?

Maybe it's their way of managing a very popular event, although PH do these free of charge so it doesn't make sense.

If it was like the one I've been to (earlier this year) then no, not really. It's a few fast food stalls and a few cars parked up to nose around. I thought the idea was that it was a gathering of likeminded folk. I would expect them to make a little more effort if you have to pay for it now.

Absolutely. They're making money from the food stalls. Maybe there's grounds hire involved? There's a supercar meet at MB World soon. I think it's £10 entry. I'm not paying that just to look at cars in a car park. I suspect however that the organiser has to rent the space as it's in the main runway area of MB World which is normally used for their car test rides.

I was up for going to this but the small fee has put me off. I don’t mind paying for a big event like the Pistonheads annual service but just for a meet up there’s plenty of free events to attend instead.

I was going to sign (and cough) up, but the £5 tickets were unavailable eight(!) minutes after the email went out, so decided on principle against it!

What’s the score with these? I’d be happy to pay (it’s something to do) however I’ve nothing remotely PH worthy (a Kia company car!). Is there parking around the back for us plebs?

I've only been to one and there were a couple of static displays, a few food stalls and lots of cars in the car park. Nothing worth paying for in my opinion.

I went to the last one at Bicester and thought it was well organised. Some interesting displays and mooching around the general car park was as equally enjoyable. Aside from the abundance of Porsches and usual supercars there was a variety of lesser seen eclectic stuff as well. I wouldn't have begrudged paying an entry fee to be honest.

Notwithstanding the above it's Kop Hill Climb on 14th-15th so I'll be heading there with the kids instead. Same entry price and a fantastic event if you've never been

I’ve quit my grumbling about missing the early bird tickets and stumped up, as it is a decent event being fair.

Great shout about Kop Hill, I went with the family a few years back and really enjoyed it.
