Carbon Fibre Strakes

Looking to replace my strakes and found a new set which says “as fitted to n420 but can be fitted to other v8 and v12 vantage.”
Curious as to know if and how they are different to “normal” strakes.

I guess you're looking at the ones on astonmartinbits? There is no differerence between any of them other than the material they are made from, questionable quality chrome plated (as seen by many owners), wrapped chrome plated to hide the pitting or carbon, they all have the same fixings including the notorious rear fixings in the door jamb and behind the ECU.

Previous owner painted my ones black to match the window surround. They look good but not seen another like that so carbon ones seem a good opportunity to update and keep it looking sharp.
I’m curious as to they would differentiate as plan to change mirror caps and rear light panels and don’t want to find the weave different etc.

Mine are chrome (pitted) and considering rechroming, replace with chrome, replace with carbon or wrap (temporary black). I too have black window surrounds (N430) so the strakes are the only thing that are chrome, decisions decisions!
It's a valid point though about the weave if you are going to start on the carbon path. Perhaps it's not too much of a point though unless you get different sorts i.e. forged, regular etc.

It’s my ocd re weave - watched hundreds of cars leave events on YT and virtually no UK cars appear to be modded with just black strakes ( whole car is blacked out it seems and I like it) it’s either chrome or carbon so I thought I would subtly update.
Perhaps I should leave the n420 ones for you …what colour scheme is your n430 (please don’t say green and yellow or you’ll have to send pics !)
