Hi Guys, I have just done an overhaul on a spare speed 6 engine I have, new seals and gaskets etc and cleaned heads.

Unfortunately the marks I made for the timing have been cleaned away. So I am in the dark as to where the Cams need to be positioned.

Is there anyone that could give me some rough guidance. They dont need to be precise as I will come back to the timing at a later point- I just want to to be turn the engine freely.

Id really welcome any help

I have no idea how you'd go about setting that cam up properly, but if your only concern is to enable the engine to be turned over slowly without piston/valve interference then it would be a safe bet to close the exhaust very early and open the inlet very late - anywhere close to TDC with minimal overap and roughly balanced should be safe. But obviously you'd be turning it over carefully by hand and checking the clearances afterwards.
