Auction: 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Alfa Romeo Racing Edition
Discussion
Hello, this is Dave from PistonHeads. I can confirm that the owner has priced his car competitively to allow for the VAT element to be covered by the buyer should this car be brought back to the UK, especially when you look at the last recorded sale for one of these very rare Alfa’s.
Best wishes

Hi Andy
From reading the attached VAT would be on the purchase price of the vehicle.
https://www.gov.uk/importing-vehicles-into-the-uk/...
Speaking with HMRC, The process would be as follows,
You would need to appoint a customs agent at the docks to process the import
E-mail the HMRC Cars Team - ecsm.nchcars@hmrc.gov.uk
Share the bill of sale - Valuation
Share all documentation and VIN Number and Chassis number
The cars team will then issue you a NOVA document within ten days
They will then confirm the VAT required. This would be charged at the standard rate of 20%
They will then issue UK Documentation for the car
I hope the above helps
Best wishes
Dave
