Recent self-imposed stinginess has forced me to seriously consider the cost of many of the activities I engage in. I've spent most of this afternoon wishing I could go out and play golf, or go for a drive, or play with a camera I don't have, or buy a new piece of technology to break. Instead, I've done such practical and affordable things as inspect the car, clear out the garage, start packing for uni and even cleaned the kitchen.

So what expensive habits do you have that you can't afford? Aside from cars, obviously.

Women.

The cause of & solution to all my problems. Lets face it, the only reason I bought the Elise in the first instance (& I suspect this is applicable to most purchases of that ilk) was to impress, women.

My God, thinking on, even the batchelor pad I have bought & furnished has been done with a view to acheiving this end. Desmond Morris was right, we (or at least me) are not so far removed from animals as we would like to think.

The TVR.

Its a love, not a necessity.

No hang on, it is necessary.

I'd be careful, I got lynched for saying that a while back, some folk are very touchy about their status on the evolutionary ladder.

Anyway, back OT, Rallying, god is it expensive....

But such fun!

The TVR - its my only car, so every mile I travel brings me closer to the next £service.

Luckily I found/bought a low miler, and I dont do more than 1000 miles a month anyway.

The gerbils are our cheapest 'hobby' They run on peanuts, literally

But where would we all be in this life if we didn't indulge ourselves in whatever it is that floats our boat?
