I currently have an EQC on long term hire whilst my own car is being repaired.

It seems a previous renter set up Mercedes Me and there is no way to remove his details from the vehicle that I can find.

Is it really the case that I would have to go to the dealer to do this?

Pretty pointless anyway as I don't own the car so don't have the V5 but would be very useful to me as having to manually manage charging is a PITA. I also don't necessarily want some random being able to track my movements.

Any clever ways to do a manual reset of the system?

Without being the owner of the car, there’s no way to associate the car to you. The best you can do is ask the hire company to disassociate the previous user on your behalf.

As I feared. I also expect that Enterprise have as much idea of Mercedes Me as a pot plant.

NOT my video, and not QUITE the same, but to get you an idea.

Now do Part 1, and maybe part 2 and 3 if required

Part 1

On the centre screen

Settings icon (cant remember if a car or a gear icon)
Settings tab (along the top)

Scroll down

Reset (to factory settings)

Takes a few minutes. Probably best not to be driving.

Part 2

You'll probably find the car will also revert to Kilometers per hour

So again

Settings icon
settings tab

Units - switch to mph

Part 3

Dipped beam MAY also get confused

Settings icon
This time do the
"lights" tab
Assuming you're in the UK set to "RIGHT SIDE TRAFFIC" As in traffic coming TOWARDS YOU is to your right. The wording confuses people. Blame zee Germans
