i think the trouble you will have is with the plastic clips on the underside of the res which hold the sensor in place, the oem sensor body is quite narrow compared with the other jaguar / ford ones ive seen so the retaining clips wouldnt fit

It's not always the sensor that goes bad. There's a float inside the tank that can stick and cause a warning to appear on the dash. If you buy a new tank, a new sensor comes with it.
