Female IT Managers Topple Men In Pay League - They're younger, earn more and get promoted faster, says survey.|http://management.silicon.com/careers/0,39024671,39152386,00.htm

Interesting report. I'm always glad to hear about equality being achieved, but it seems to me that for some reason the fact that women are now 'outperforming' men in some areas is seen as a good thing, when it was clearly a bad thing when it was the other way round. Is it truly that women are simply better than men, or have all the government and business policies, some of which involve positive discrimination whether explicitly stated or simply implicity part of processes, made it easier for men than women in some areas of the workpace?

It's really the same principle as Time magazine's recent cover story relating to the female 'Mid-life Crisis'. On the cover three slim and successful women were pictured and the article broadly described this female mid-life crisis as a great, empowering experience and an example of women taking control. As for me, I was pleased to see one like-minded reader write in and ask why a mid-life crisis for women was empowering and positive whilst for men it was juvenile and embarassing? I suspect a similar article on male mid-life crisis would have poked fun at a number of balding men with paunches riding Harleys.

I really get exasperated with this sometimes. Can we not achieve equality without undermining males?

No.

They're not after equality - despite this being the big pretence. They are after any advantage available.

As we would be if only we were winning!

I'm fighting back. I'm a hominist.

Right on, lets see them lift servers and such like - The Physical side of the job - anyone can sit on their a55 and bark orders, creat charts to say how wonderful the department is doing and order from suppliers. Most of the femail IT managers I know do not have a clue. Go for a job interview - all tits and a55 - You'll do nicely.

Cynical, me?

I have long since said if I ever had a wife/partner who had a better career or prospects than me and it was necessary for one of us to stay at home or go part time I'd gladly work out how the hell you can iron a shirt in less than 10mins...

House husband? Bring it on. Lived on my own working about 320-330 days a year for long enough to know how 'hard' it must be to be a house husband. Reckon I'd do about the equivilent of 2 days work in 7 at the most. Add kids into the mix I'm sure I'd cope 'somehow'.

Funny thing is that the more men who are doing this, and the more men who spend a few years living on their own, the less weight all the sob, sob stories about how hard it is to run a good home carry. Sorry don't buy it anymore.

And before anyone gets the urge to flame me here I have just spent the last 6 years in a relationship and have lived with g/f and her 3 kids for the last 3.

I am 100% for equality. Just don't try to kid me that equality means all for her and scraps for him.

O/T - Ever heard the story about the bloke who was ripped into by a woman for being a misogynist because he dared to open the door for a her. Few days later she was behind him at the same door so he didn't hold it for her and it swung back at her and knocked all the papers she was carrying on to the floor. He stopped, opened the door and said to her as she was picking them up - "You want equality? Open your own f'ing door." Don't agree with what he did or said but that didn't stop me PMSL when I first heard it!

A Woman was out golfing one day when she hit the ball into the woods. She went into the woods to look for it and found a frog in a trap.

The frog said to her, "If you release me from this trap, I will grant you three wishes."

The woman freed the frog, and the frog said, "Thank you, but I failed to mention that there was a condition to your wishes. Whatever you wish for, your husband will get times ten!" The woman said, "That's okay."

For her first wish, she wanted to be the most beautiful woman in the world.
The frog warned her, "You do realize that this wish will also make your husband the most handsome man in the world, an Adonis whom women will flock to". The woman replied, "That's okay, because I will be the most
beautiful Woman and he will have eyes only for me."

So, KAZAM-she's the most beautiful Woman in the world! For her second wish, she wanted to be the richest woman in the world. The frog said, "That will make your husband the richest man in the world. And he will be ten times richer than you. " The woman said, "That's okay, because what's mine is his, and what's his is mine." So, KAZAM-she's the richest woman in the world!

The frog then inquired about her third wish, and she answered, "I'd like a mild heart attack."

Moral of the story: Women are clever. Don't mess with them.

Attention female readers:
This is the end of the joke for you. Stop here and continue feeling good.

Male readers:
Please scroll down.

The man had a heart attack ten times milder than his wife!!!

Moral of the story: Women are really dumb but think they're really smart.

Let them continue to think that way and just enjoy the show.

PS: If you are a woman and are still reading this; it only goes to show that women never listen!!!

Spot on.

Will bet £££'s (hmmm...might get myself down Ladbrookes) that in 10 or so years time womens pay will have surpassed mens. This will then not be 'an outrageous travesty etc etc' but somehow will be mens own fault.

Female strippers and porn stars earn a lot more than their male counterparts, but of course they are being 'exploited'.
