MR2 Roadster used body parts sources
Discussion
I need to get some parts to get my facelift MR2 Roadster through its MOT.
I've tried J-spec but they don't have stock at the moment so I am looking for some more suggestions of possible sources.
I’m after the following: rust free facelift drivers side rear quarter in silver (will also buy offside one if available), and a repair section of the drivers side sill at the rear (as mine has been crushed by incorrect jacking and has rusted).
I also need a rear subframe, new ones are available but finding a good used one at the right price would help the wallet.
Any leads would really be appreciated!

Look up Dick Sloane on FB, based in Carlisle area. Great guy to deal with. I believe there was an ad for a rear quarter in silver yesterday for £160 on one of the FB members forums. Worth joining them if you haven't already.
Just remembered, doubt it's of any interest to you, I've got a few bits for sale, inc. a TTE replica stainless style bar, left over from the recent sale of my car.

Thanks, I'll have a search for him on FB, I am on a couple of forums there.Just remembered, doubt it's of any interest to you, I've got a few bits for sale, inc. a TTE replica stainless style bar, left over from the recent sale of my car.

My car came with a style bar and I sold it off as I didn't like it (although the wind deflector was very good), but thanks for thinking of it.

Other possible options we have used in the past are MR2 Ben and TCB (although the latter only sells new parts I think).
TCB is waiting for some stock of the subframes, if they arrive in time I'm likely to try to get one from him, I've had a few bits from MR2 Ben in the past so that's another good idea, I'll drop him a message. Thanks, yes I keep looking on eBay but I can't find any decent silver facelift offside ones (now have the nearside one sorted thanks to a kind mr2 owner).
I suspect I'm going to have to look at different colour ones but there's no way I can paint silver well enough and if I add on the cost of paintshop work it all gets a bit more difficult to justify. Haven't given up yet, still a few more days before it's due at the welders!

It was all a bit more paniced than I'd prefer, but the work started today. J-Spec came through finding a perfect quarter just in time.
Really impressed with the workmaniship I've seen from the fabricator so far which makes me feel better about spending on a car that could be replaced cheaply. Another hole was found at the front and there are a few more bits to sort on the chassis rails here and there which have been caught early enough, but the rest of it is surprisingly really good (thankfully!).
