Why do we get them when tired?

I'm not sleeping well so mine are getting darker, and when dave was sedated for a week his vanished completely.

So what's actually going on?

A lack of sleep or excessive tiredness can cause paleness of the skin, which again allows the blood underneath the skin to become more visible and appear more blue or darker.

I've heard.

Its like a warning light for your car, that tells you GET MORE SLEEP FOOL!

as opposed to a car light which will say something like YOUR OIL PRESSURE HAS GONE SO STOP DRIVING IDIOT

or YOUR ABOUT TO RUN OUT OF PETROL, FIND A PETROL STATION MORON.

quite rude really, but I guess they are all machines

Has anyone passed you a pair of binoculars to look through today?

To the sensible answers: Thank you.

To the shouters: Get that bloody megaphone out of my ear.

To the silly: Have only seen the hamster today, and his binoculars are a little bit too small for me.

I know you're going through a lot but try and set some time aside just for you and relax. The cucumbers are good! Pop them in the freezer! Also get a nice under eye cream and pop that in the fridge!

Based on a basic knowledge of human physiology I'd say:-

- Your body retains more fluid when your tired.

- Not lying down for a good 8 hours kip will prevent the action of gravity draining the excess fluid

- When your tired you tend to rub your eyes a lot, this may trigger a mild inflammatory response

Try drinking lot of coffee, acts as a dieuretic and will wake you up

Will also cause worrying heart conditions

Ok, now that I have stopped laughing...

I have a problem with relaxation at the best of times. For the past 3-4 years I've had Interstitial Cystitis (www.ichelp.org/whatisic/AnIntroductionToIC.html),), and pain is a factor while relaxing or trying to go to sleep. Broken sleep is the norm for me anyway, if I don't get to sleep within 5 minutes of going to the loo then I have to go back. But now I'm stressed, things have gone hyper sensitive so it's worse.

I'm on a strict diet for it (minimal fruit and veg, so I'm surprised I haven't got scurvy yet. Caffeine is a no-no, all I can drink is water, milk and one herbal tea if my hospital treatment is working!) but there's no cure, so I'll just look like a Panda 'til things calm down a bit.

Sorry - I was apologising for my joke about binoculars. Actually, I think it was so bad nobody knew it was a joke. The fact is that I am useless with computers. I'm nice to animals and children though.

I got it... it's like when you answer the phone and the voice on the other end says "You've got a black ear"
