Hi all

Going to swap an uprated blower fan in to replace the original. I'm aware that's it's a bit of a pig to remove the blower panel but had anyone cut the panel to facilitate easier removal / refit with rivnut etc?
I have partial access behind my custom (slightly smaller) a/c heater box into the cavity above the blower fan so can reach the blower bolts.

Mainly asking if anyone thinks cutting the panel would be as much work as full removal.....

Cheers
Ian

Sorry can't help on the question specifically, but would like to know which ac box and blower you are fitting as this is something i would like to do too. Any details ?

Hi

It's entirely custom. It's a box built of abs plastic parts glued together and contains a t7 designs ac core and carbuilder heater matrix and uses the motors from the original. I wouldn't recommend it unless you've got time on your hands!

Happy to provide more info if needed but it was a long and frustrating journey. Although I'm happy with the overall design with a super clean engine bay. There are pictures in another thread.

Regards

Ian

My engine bay and other members have differing solutions. I like daveg's approach as it's an off the shelf evaporator box i think rather than my custom approach. Although my aim was to keep the existing controls working.

Thanks for the reply. I fitted a Car builder solutions AC with combined heater in a GT40 some years ago and it was miles better than the rubbish i have in my AC equiped Griffith so was thinking of ripping it out and starting again!

You've provided some inspiration thanks!
