Evening everyone.

As title suggests, it is leaking inside, filling up with water.
Is it possible to get to the internal connection to repair, or shall I just buy a new one…!!!!!
Thanks for any replies.

If it’s anything like the standard reels then if you fully extend the hose you can get at the connections at the centre and replace them. Assume with the auto reel there will be a cover to remove first?

Thanks for that.
It’s the auto reel, I’m not sure about the spring inside the covers.
Don’t want to remove the cover and the spring takes my head off, that would be very bad🤣🤣

Yes you can get spares to repair for a few quid, i did mine a couple of years ago. Try Hozelock spares site or ebay might have it (if you know what you are looking for). Hardest bit I found was identifying my 17 year old autoreel and the spares that would fit I had to email Hozelock support who confirmed the part no to order. Easy 10 min job once I had the clips/new internal connector.

That’s great, thanks for that.
So I take it, just remove the side then you can get to the internal connection from there.
So, do I remove the side with locking twist knob then.

For anyone with the same issue in the future, its just a truly awful design these. The spring isn't a problem and normally is secured with two black screws at the back and you can hold it with a 12mm spanner from the front and slowly release the tension(it aint that much). The main problem and why it leaks is because the two internal connectors are just push fit loosely and nothing holding them together except for two o-rings on the centre plastic shaft that is also the water inlet. Mine just disconnected itself while I was winding the hose down and its a month old reel. The hose starts at the wrong spot too and there's literally half an inch gap for one of the pieces to travel freely up and randomly disconnect itself and to start leaking water all over.
I had to carefully make a small cut right where both parts are secured and added a small circlip to hold them there in place. It is possible to just remove the plastic lid and push the bits together again but they will come off again eventually.
I just can't see how this suppose to ever work, these o-rings wont last forever for sure so this just looks like specifically designed to fail after two years warranty. Hozelock also does not supply these two internal parts and they are rather flimsy plastic parts. For a ~£150 hose reel this is basically a joke of a design and I do not recommend them to anyone, may as well get a cheapo one.
When assembling back, simply add three turns to the spring while the hose is fully in the reel and secure it with the two black screws at the back and that should be plenty.
