Just had a quote for my 6 year service. It comes to an eyewatering £1244. That's because it includes a belt change, brake fluid and spark plugs (£199!) as well as the usual stuff. Any one got other quotes for comparison.

For reference, my 458 recently had a major service with Ferrari. Oil, filter, air filter, pollen filter, belt, brake fluid change - £1291+vat. Alpine is way too expensive

Renault are taking the piss with that.

If it's out of warranty I wouldn't bother with a dealership.

I am going independent for my 6 year 11000 miles service. Alpine service is overpriced for what it is.

Apparently the belt and tensioner is replaced if you have had an alternator replaced, which mine did last year, so isn't necessary.

Thnks for that - mines been replaced too, but I tought it was a cam belt change - £500+ for an alternator belt seems unbelievably high.

Any indies near Buckingham?

Concur with all these views, frustratingly I've had good experience with the local dealer over the years having had several Renaultsport products pre-Alpine. I bailed at the 4th year service and within a 5yr extended warranty, I don't mind accepting a reasonable premium but the price difference to a decent indy was huge. Also appreciate the mid engine nature of the car but things are not exactly difficult to get at are they, thus very little (if any?) additional labour.

(Always wondered how pricing would compare to a Renaultsport Megane with the same engine)

I’d do the same but I don’t want there to be an issues when I need the corrosion doing again

Are you sure you need an annual service with Alpine for the corrosion warranty?
I am having 3 wheel arches repaired after reporting the problem - Matins had not spotted the problem at the annual service - so I think you are covered if you are still in the warranty period.

Bodywork warranties normally require an annual inspection.
If the dealer isn’t servicing the car I’d expect them to charge for an annual inspection which would probably negate any saving taking it elsewhere for servicing.

Like MartynP, my car had only just been in for a service too. They don't inspect them at all

Just booked my car in for the 6 year service and MOT. As springfan pointed out the aux belt is replaced with an alternator change - so mine won't need doing for another 3 years or so. I checked the water content in the brake fluid. It was about 1% so that doesn't need doing either. I don't really think plugs need changing at the 22k my car has done- and £199 for changing them is daylight robbery, so that came off the list. (The NGK plugs to use are DILKAR8R9HS - £62.52 a set from The Green Spark Plug company. but more expensive at many places)

Net cost including MOT is still a rip off at £540, but less than half what it might have been. Still looking to use an Indy next time if I can find one locally.

Might be worth popping onto some of the Renaultsport forums and asking the question there. I suppose there is k-tech, but they are still a fair trek from you unfortunately. Happy to help you with oil and brake changes though if you're ever in the Cheshire area. I have a scissor lift so am always doing something as it's so easy to get the car up

BCR - did the dealer confirm the belt/roller change ?
I’m coming up to this service and could do with saving that cost if possible
Many thanks

Yes he was quite upfront and definite about it once I said I believed that to be the case with an alternator replacement.
