The last couple of times I’ve had the Cerb out, each journey about 10 miles, once or twice the clutch peddle went very light. Returned to normal afterwards and was then good for rest of the drive. What should I expect to happen next….? Slave seals going? Something else?

In my experience the only thing that affects pedal weight is the slave seals

However, I'd expect the opposite to happen, occaisional heavy pedal before returning to normal, but with the seals failing eventually

Have you bled the clutch lately?

When I first got mine, I think it was still on original fluid, and 600 TVR's in London for London Thunder, caused a bit of a jam and the car got warm. First sign was the clutch pedal went really light, then I had to pump it to use the clutch. Once out of london and cooling the clutch went back to normal.

Just needed to bleed and replace all the fluid which was old and manky

Clutch (and brake) fluid is hydroscopic, meaning it absorbs water. When old, watery clutch or brake fluid gets hot, the water boils and much of the fluid is effectively useless (gas).

I once boiled my brake fluid on the straight at Bedford Autodrome just before the chicane yikes . I've only ever lost clutch once - left me on the hard shoulder of the M25 near Heathrow for about 1.5 hours while it all cooled down. Fine again after that. Plane spotting is boring :yawn:

Struggling to bleed my clutch. What’s the correct spanner size for the bleed nipple? 7mm ring key slips but 6mm socket doesn’t fit. Also does the 14mm nut further down act as a locking nut and have to be slackened off before unscrewing the nipple?

Possibly imperial? TVRs are a mixture of parts and have both. 1/4" is 6.35 mm
