After a cracking British GP we’re in Hungary- hot, twisty, hard on tyres. Should be another close one.

The circuit should probably suit Ferrari and Mercedes more than Red Bull and McLaren, but the cars seem so close you could throw a blanket over them- fantastic to see. I'm going with Piastri- he was great in the race last year and is due some luck.

Perez and Ricciardo need something special, as both seem to be heading for the exit. McLaren need to think more clearly under pressure.

Poll is for the win.

Voted Lewis again. One can but dream.

Thanks PiaP as always for the thread, it genuinely looks like we have four teams level at the top now, and any one of seven drivers (sorry Checo) could be on pole next Saturday.

I must confess I can't disagree with the idea that the Merc and Red Bull should have the pace here.

Thinking this one is a Max win though. With Lewis hot on his heels but never overtaking...

Although saying that haven't the RB's had a bit of trouble with Kerbs of late?

Really don't want to jump on the Merc hype train after one lucky and one good result but isn't this track one of Hamiltons specialties (can equal his 9 wins at Silverstone)

So voting for him even if it is the Hungbororing.

Points to the question whether there should be a rule change when the teams are all getting closer and closer.

Hamilton on a roll. Always strong on this track.

Perez to make rare appearance in Q3.

I think there will be quite a few significant upgrades which makes it even harder than usual to guess the pecking order.

Thanks PiaP!!

Track temps and tyre longevity give me the feeling that Max will be back on top with an almost wafty waftyish win...

Wonderful word, "wafty". biggrin (*grabs popcorn*)

I would like to see the MBs or either McLaren do well though. Let's see how close they are - I'm not overly hopeful though.

I voted Perez for the win.

...nah, just kidding. He'll be out in Q3 and finish out of the points.

I've gone for Russell, despite me not wanting too, as I think he'll pip it in Qualy over the McLarens and Lewis and I reckon fortune will favour him this weekend!

Max would be my second guess!

Not a bad shout there. George does tend more than Lewis to aim for the qualifying setup over race setup, which might well be to his advantage at a tight little track like this where it’s difficult to overtake.

I'm thinking Lando, Max then Lewis.

Suspect George will have a moment and over-drive the car, putting him out of place in qualifying or during the race.

Perez to have a spectacular qualifying session and end up 8th.

Gut feeling is that Piastri will do well and then something or someone will happen to him.

Hamilton does well here and he is coming in off the back of his win at Silverstone, I reckon there is a good chance this could be his 2nd 9th win at a single circuit.

Thanks as always, PiaP.

I'm enjoying going into each race not knowing who might be best suited to each circuit. Last year's dominance seems so long ago, which seemed so unlikely at the time! smile

Q3 as in the top 10 shootout? I'll go with scraping into Q2 around the Haas's, and no points.

A classic example of why you should never post on here at 5.22am. Obviously I mean Q1, thank you for correcting that.

I do wonder (given Spain's recent Tennis and Foootie success) if a tenner on Sainz to win might be sensible.

Except if Lewis is say 2nd behind George then when he pits Lewis will put in stonking laps and get in front.....
