John Eales Alternator bracket kit

If anyone wants one on John Eales Alternator bracket kits, he still does them. One on its way to me.
If anyone wants one, he recommended to me the size required for the new shorter belt.
He said PK71015 or PK71035.
Me being me, I picked up a PK71025. Slap bang in the middle. I bought a gates belt at £16.15 delivered (not eBay, I couldn't find one that size).

Does the kit still come with the infamous banana adjuster or has it changed ?

This is a historic discussion in these forums on the angle of the banana adjuster bracket and I’d suggest yours is not correctly positioned Harvey.

Changing it will also give the belt a better purchase in the water pump like Rev’s one above.

Some people replaced it with a pair of rod end bearings with opposing threads, with a link bar, which works well.

Both those adj brackets are upside down and wont slide as intended if you look at the pics above

They never seem to fit well do they, it’s been a debate for years and they often need modifying etc. The rod end bearings solution always appears a much better solution and a shame the kit doesn’t come supplied with one.
