Hello all, I'm based in Guildford, Surrey and would like to seek the collective opinion on specialists in the area to look after my 4.7l V8 Vantage.

Preferred specialists? Any to avoid?

Thank you in advance!

I have always found HWM in Walton on Thames (main dealer) to be excellent.

Is Basingstoke in range? https://phoenix-am.co.uk/

I've spoken with Andrew there a few times and whilst Phoenix is too far away to be practical for me, he seemed very competent. Worth a call I'd say.

I’m now in Surrey and have worked around a couple. Main dealer, you can’t go wrong with HWM in Walton. Specialist, you have J H Pearce in Chobham.

Another vote for Pheonix. They really are excellant.

I've tried several other (nearer) specialists, but Pheonix are by far the best and well worth travelling for.

Have a chat with Dan at Chicane https://chicane.am/mot-servicing/ they did a great job of looking after my V12 Vantage in the past.

Chicane, Phoenix, RSW, HWM, P&L, Vantage Engineering, and now Quantum in Kent. You are spoilt for choice and located in the best corner of the entire planet for Aston Martin specialists - enjoy trying the different chocolates and best of luck smile

My thanks to everyone for your replies, that I very much appreciate.

The closest specialist to me seems to be Trinity Engineering (Ripley). Though that one hasn't been mentioned so far. Could anyone share their thoughts please?

Thank you!

As someone who had the same question back in late 2022, all names given so far came up in my research.

If it helps, OP, I live in Epsom and have used Trinity for some minor works and HWM for main service. Unlike my experience of Porsche OPCs v indies, the price for some things isn’t necessarily (much) more at a main dealer. So, always worth checking but keep an eye on the excellent alternative parts thread here in this forum as the “Aston Tax” can bite!

I’ve also met Ryszard from Aston Keeper at the local AMOC meet in Denbies a few times. Could be worth chatting to a few of the suggested names when you know you want work done.

There’s also AHM in Hartley Wintney which is only about half an hour from Guildford.

Think our messages crossed in the Ether. I’ve used them and another local owner who has “the twin” of my car will only use them. I think the owner often goes to the Denbies meet too. Hope this help and let us know how you get on. Forgot to say, if this is a recent purchase, congrats!

No sign of an address: https://astonkeeper.co.uk/

Only clue is the 01734 number and 'Surrey, England'.

Trinity have looked after 2 of my AM’s over the course of 10 years, you’d struggle to find a more knowledgable and thorough place to service your car - Tim is one of the nicest folks in the Aston world to boot.

If you don’t want to stray from the main dealer network, then HWM is the place to go.

Trinity are brilliant, They really know their stuff and are very detailed. I've used them many times over several years. I used Phoenix also who are also great but given you location and proximity to Trinity it's a no brainer! They're also always happy to drop you the station if needed

Thank you everyone! I bought the car from HWM and have no complaints, I'd just like a second opinion on a couple of things.

I'm a frequent reader, but rarely post.

But while I'm here, I've had the car 18 months or so and thought I'd show it off:

Trinity Engineering - excellent, they look after my Vanquish S. Speak to Tim Butcher.

If you don't want to go the main dealer route (HWM) then I would recommend either Phoenix in Basingstoke (excellent guys to deal with), Vantage Engineering (Terry Couzens .. very close to Guildford) and AHM in Hartley Wintney.

I've used all three for routine servicing and upgrades. If it's servicing then I would go with Phoenix.

Hi, for what it's worth I would also recommend Trinity. They look after my 4.3 V8V and have always been brilliant. As an added bonus, they normally do a breakfast BBQ each year and always have some amazing classic Astons in the workshop.
