Morning all. On saturday, went to view a car at a local main ford dealer. Agreed a deal, paid for the car but couldn't take it there and then as the accounts chap wasn't available.

At some point on sunday evening/monday morning the car was vandalised at the dealership. Rear window smashed, pain on bootlid scratched. Dealer has been more than helpful so far, provided me a car to use until mine is repaired.

Exapecting a call later on re. timescale etc for getting my hands on the car. Question I have, if the timescale isn't one I'm happy with, would I be correct that I can reject the car as it's within the 30 day period after purchase?

Any help much appreciated.

Technically you never even collected the car.
Have you signed invoices and handover paperwork? (FCA stuff etc)

Yes, signed the sales paperwork (no finance paperwork, not using finance).

Given the fault wasn't present when you bought the car, I'm not sure it's so clear cut - they will say they provided you courtesy car and are footing the bill to repair the damage done while on their premises.

Given they have provided you with a vehicle to use I'm not so sure that not being happy with the timeframe of the repair would stand up if the dealer decided to say no. Unless they happen to perform the repair to an extremely poor standard, or you can prove you have been massively inconvenienced.
