Hey everyone,
I was recently scrolling through my camera roll and came across this photo of a Lexus LFA that I spotted in the car park at Gleneagles hotel.
It got my thinking about how rare it is to see a cool car, outwith car meet ups like Autobahn Scotland.

So my question to you all is, What is the best car that you have spotted in the wild in Scotland (that was not at a car event or dealership)?

I will get the ball rolling with the Lexus LFA.

Many years back, probably about 25, i spotted an XJ220 cruising up Great Western Road just outside of the old Clatty Pats.

It's wasn't as common to see supercars back then, so to see an XJ220 in the wild was pretty cool.

Very early 90's I remember seeing a Ferrari F40 parked up in George Street in Edinburgh.

Sadly I was working up on the 4th floor, and not the sort of job I could just leg it down for a closer look.

As a youngster I remember being completely stunned to see what was probably still the top supercar available at the time - my work colleagues were not remotely interested in the fact that they were looking at the most expensive car they would have ever seen in real life.

A 288 gto, a Porsche 959 both a long tome ago in Glasgow were unreal spots back then

Now a little bit older not a lot surprises me but Nick Masons 250 GTO was something worth seeing close up at Goodwood

Pagani Zonda GJ or a Porsche Carrera GT. Not at the same time. Both were cloud9

That'll be the same guy who has had a Porsche GT1, Mucielago race car, F50 and other exotic stuff up in the north east. Fossil Furious on Instagram if you want a look at some of his cars.

McLaren F1 in Inverness not long after they came out. I can still hardly believe it after all these years. We see some lovely stuff up here with the NC500 now but that still tops the lot for me.

Last year I spotted an absolutely gorgeous black Ferrari 296 in my local Sainsbury's car park in Prestwick. Never saw one before and I have never saw another.

About 20 years ago (I feel old typing that) my girlfriend (now wife) and I were on our way back from Fort William to my parents’ in Ayr (and from there back to Swindon where we were living).

We stopped at the cafe at Castle Stalker, and when we came out there was a black 300SL Gullwing in the car park. I very nearly wet myself!

I was standing staring at it when the owner and his wife appeared - she was driving the E Class estate support vehicle. They were on the way from somewhere in England to their house near Fort William.

It was an absolute once in a lifetime moment to see one out in the wild and actually being used.

A few weeks after we got back home I popped in to the car book shop that is (used to be?) in Swindon. They had a framed sketch of the car I’d seen. So I bought it smile

About 20 years ago I heard then saw an Aston Vanquish being manouevered on a driveway just down the hill from the abbey in Dunfermline.
There was an XJ220 in the garage behind it.

Years ago in Fort Augustus a Ferrari F40 pulled up outside the Spar (?) at the bottom of the locks and the owner went in for some shopping.

20 years ago I saw a Ferrari F50 parked up at Balbirnie golf club near Glenrothes.
The owner was lurking near it - a middle aged gent with a belly, just like me nowadays (except I don't have an F50).
I was extremely surprised to see it there since the road to the golf club had a lot of double sleeping policemen.

In terms of rare and exciting, as a kid I used to visit my cousin down in Lanark and there was a guy in the next street that had 2 x De Tomaso Panteras - we used to walk past his house hoping to catch sight of them on the drive or in the open garage.

I think I know of the property in question and seem to recollect a Noble emerging a few years back...

Isn’t there a Porsche GT1 in dark blue that lives (or lived) in Scotland?

He also has a silver one though I don't think it's been to Scotland.
