Best leather jacket?

For leisure riding at normal speeds I'd get a decent mesh jacket with D3O armour, for the summer. You can wear one or a couple of thin layers under it, a layer over it and also a waterproof boil in the bag jacket over it if necessary, very versatile. On the hot days they are a revelation. I only wear mesh now when I go to the alps, it copes really well with cold morning at 5 or 8 C, rising to 25 during the day and back to 7 or 8 in the evening depending on altitude.
I remember having a date years ago, we'd both ridden out and stopped for lunch on what turned out to be a very hot day with strong sun. Traffic was heavy and slow for the last 30 mins and we both got off sweating like rancid pigs, she had previously looked pristine and didn't appreciate the situation at all, despite the location being her choice. We both had very fetching Dianese leathers back then, oh to fit into them now

Mesh all the way now.Another vote here for a mesh jacket for summer, I have 3 leather jackets collected over the years and a Vanson cordura mesh I got in the USA about 8 years ago when I did a long trip including the Mojave desert . A mesh jacket with a wind/showerproof liner for cool morning starts and rain showers is ideal. I rode with just that last year on a 2 week trip to Switzerland, Austria and Italy. When we did experience some rain on the motorway on the journey home, I had a 1 piece rain suit to go over the top.
Its always nice to have a leather jacket or two though for different conditions and if you can afford it, no doubt made to measure BKS or Hideout are at the top of their game in the UK.
I have a lovely Triumph leather goretex jacket, with optional liner, was tempted by it in the sale a few years back, as it was less than half price. Apparently Goretex and leather is not a huge seller, I can now understand why, as its just too warm for half of the year. Im sure if I lived in one of the Nordic countries I get get more use out of it.
I dont think there is a truly all season leather jacket....well maybe if you had perforated leather for summer with a liner for cool days and waterproof on top for wet days ....so basically a 3 layer jacket

i once tried the first verison when it was being sold off for very little ££ - it was like trying to put on a thick cardboard suit; dreadful
just purchased knox vented jacket and pants and its raining and half the temperature; still will keep for Euro trip in August

My Rev'It! CR jacket does a reasonable job of being vented and breathable in summer.
MotoCAP is an Australian safety project - might also know a thing about ventilation. AA rated and D30 Armour.

Plus you wouldn't use a single retailer website as the basis of spending £400 without knowing the breadth and depth of the market. Google is a wonderful thing.
Some of the reviews are bizarre that I've seen on their site as well. Waterproof jacket 4/5 - not worn it out yet so don't know/can't comment on it's waterproof. Why not wait? Ffs.
