Recommendations for a garden hose spray gun
Discussion
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good quality spray gun with multiple spray patterns for a garden hose please?
I've tried quite a few over the years and they all seem to fail in one way or another after a relatively short time.
I've tried the usual ones recommended by "Gardening World" and similar sites, but without much success.
Several different Hozelock ones, including their "premium" metal versions have all had issues.
I even tried an expensive Gardena one that claims to be very robust, as well as being frostproof - it isn't, as one failed after a year, which I got replaced. The replacement also failed - leaking when turned off.
Are there any other manufacturers that I should be looking at - possibly less well known, and maybe used by professional gardeners/groundsmen?
Price isn't really a major consideration - I'm more interested in something that works well and should last years.
Thanks.

The only type I've found that don't leak are the thumb control type.
I've only had budget plastic ones which last 2 or three years before the sun and frost degrade the plastic and something snaps.
However, I've spotted this metal version. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CPPFXYYF/ref=sspa_dk...
The thumb control type on/off valve is a simple solution which allows you to set and control the flow level, the twist nozel gives you the standard wide spray> fine stream. No need to hold a trigger which is welcome if you are using it for any length of time.

They all seem to fail eventually, especially if left out all winter. I now remove mine and store in my garage over winter, but they still eventually break.
My current one purchased this spring is a cheap Hozelock gun which works perfectly for me, with all the right spray patterns. I expect it will fail at some point but it is only £8

The Geka pistol gun seems pretty decent for the money but would, like any other, end up ruined if you let it freeze when it's full of water.
We live in a pretty frost prone part of inland Aberdeenshire where frost isn't unheard of at pretty much any time of the year but it's easy to get into the habit of draining the hose and leaving the gun open when you coil up the hose.

Fanho (or is it Fanhao) are stocked on Amazon IIRC. They will do both plastic and brass versions. Normally about 50% off.
Get the brass one. The critical thing is dont leave it out at winter time, bring it inside as they will not survive frost.
I always empty mine (hold it upside down and pull the lever and shake any water out) any way just in case of a snap frost overnight in spring or autumn but come late October its in the utility room cupboard.

After going through a couple of plastic Hozelock versions I am now after going through a third winter with this one which hasn't gone brittle or ceased to function on me. Pretty robust too as has been thrown around the garden and patio by my toddler!
I think maybe all the consumer grade ones are basically rubbish?

Fairly sure that's exactly the same as the Draper one above. So many of these things are badge-engineered.https://www.faithfulltools.com/p/FAIHOSEGS/Garden-...
