My guess would he came in on the basis of it being a holiday visit, then had a speaking engagement etc that counted as working, something like that.

Lied about his convictions on his Visa?

"In 2012 Robinson pleaded guilty to using a friend’s passport to travel to the United States and was sentenced to 10 months’ imprisonment."

He realised Whistler is a far better place than most anywhere else in the UK and he decided to stay?

Lied on his immigration form about his previous convictions - said he had none apparently.

Link?

From the interview I saw he said he had a three hour interview with immigration before he was granted a visa. It would be foolish for such a high profile individual to lie about having convictions when it’s such public knowledge.

Why do people call this guy anything other than Stephen Yaxley-Lennon?

Because people would complain if the media in general referred to him using the correct "Wcensoredky Little Ccensoredt-Faced Nazi" terminology.

Yeah. And that Reginald Kenneth Dwight shouldn't get away with it neither.

You don't get a three hour interview for shuts & giggles.

I'd imagine that the first question in that three hour interview was "you said you had no convictions, but....."

I can see a few reasons why he wouldn't be eligible for a visitor visa for Canada. So I'm betting either he lied on entry, or lied during the application.

He's been convicted of Assault, Public Order, False Passport, Stalking, Mortgage Fraud and more.

Would it matter if he did?

Given SYL views on controlling borders and immigration, it's hypocrisy of the highest order that he should have violated another countries immigration laws.

Don't worry, someone will be along shorty to explain the situation, I'm sure it's all a misunderstanding.
