Can we not come up with anything original anymore? Just ape the Americans? I'm referring to the pathetic UK 'Walk of Fame' unveiled today.

Naff ideas aside, the inductees are the greatest actors, comedians musicians, entertainers and general leviathans from the arts from the past 50 years that this great country of ours has produced.

So... in this instant gratification society we live in now, we have...

Ant & Dec
Robbie Williams
Ricky Gervais
and
Chris Tarrant.

It makes me ashamed that we have stooped to such cretinous depths.

You're right but... Not in my house... on my watch etc.. it's a battle to keep them away from the damn thing though. And the programmes, adult drama masquerading as kids programmes... sex, divorce, my daughters arguing about lesbianiam and asking me if I'm gay. Jesus Christ they're not even teenagers yet. FFS... Television is the root of all evil, Tony Blair owes his existence to the flickering box, the toad.

Well, there are xxx digital channels and they have to fill them with something for as little money as possible.
Are we just copying the US or is that where the most new ideas come from (good or bad?)
But I am heartliy sick of so-called 'celebs' who have no more talent than I, and frequently less, and are stupid as well. Appearing in EastEnders once in 2001 does not make you a celebrity!

Personally I'd have Gervais in there.

If you include Cleese on the back of Towers you HAVE to include Gervais on the back of The Office.

Sir Elton John turned it down, apparently?

Mind you, how maff were the little stars they gave out?

A dreadful programme.

if it makes you feel any better, the american 'stars' on hollywood boulevard were never awarded to hollywood stars or celebs, the stars had to pay for the privellege to be there.

so it wasnt ever a mark of worth, simply a mark of wealth. thats true, that is.
