Great to have such a high profile trusted figure point out to everyone how much of a screaming bargain McLarens are if you really like driving.

Hopefully it's good to him and we see plenty of vids with it.

It is a bargain. As he says still as quick as anything.

650S is probably the pick of the range in terms of cost although he did pick a rather highly specified car. Great to see him in one.
If he had gone for a 12C then he could have been cash positive from the Emira

I thought it was an Artura under the cover until he said he didn’t want to spend much.

Good to have a high profile owner shouting about them.

I hope the prices don’t go nuts though, good to have them with people who enjoy them.

As someone who has just recently bought a 650S it really did put a huge smile on my face hearing someone as knowledgeable and experienced as Harry being so effusive in his praise of these cars. Not only reviewing it positively but actually spending his own money on it, when he could own or has owned pretty much anything else out there.

Interesting that he highlighted exactly the same thing I do when asked about the performance; the 0-100 time. Not just faster than the Ferrari 458 or even a 488, but faster from 0-100 than an Enzo, an SLR, even a McLaren F1.

Having my 650s parked next to my Emira this past year was one reason the Lotus got used so rarely.

Indeed fun to see and hear such a respected figure fawning over his new purchase like someone with their first (super)car.

Though, as one more interested in driving than decoration, I personally think the MSO bits are vomit.

Full disclosure - black 650s here - zero decorative external carbon or body parts. Don’t care about resale value - will be keeping mine as the ICE convertible supercar in my varied garage for as long as it lasts.

They all feel the same behind the wheel, anything else is a bonus!

I think its just the wheel he doesn't like(same here).

A swap to a full Alcantara one would be a simple fix.

The only MSO part that would bug me is the large logo on the door sill. That would be removed straight away........

Yes I think it will be good to follow Harry's progress with the mclaren brand. I guess he paid £110k for the car given it was £50k to swap plus Emira. Absolute performance bargain really.

That and the steering wheel. Quite a quick/cheap fix.

An upgrade to the 675lt wheel with extended carbon paddles makes all the difference.

I'll be watching his updates as well. If I'm going to say goodbye to the Exige 410, the 650S Spider woud be right up there. Harry's looks fantastic and in those short clips of him driving it, it sounded good too.

I didn't think the 675lt wheel was any different?
