I'm looking to mildy tune my 99 4.0 chim up. it done 10K and I just want a bit more power out of it. Dont want to go down the road of changing cam's at this point. Maybe just a tornado chip and a GOOD rolling road session.
Can anyone point me in the right direction to where to get this done and who to contact (tel nos etc)

If you are going down the Mark Adams Road and you don't want a fast road cam fitted get an induction kit from V8 developments (or direct from ACT). Single throttle Aluminium jobs are relatively cheap and easy to fit(carbon fibre prettier but I challenge anybody to tell the difference in performance--and they are twice the price!). The improved response is remarkable. With a Tornado chip Mark can burn it in for you. I promise that you will not be disappointed
No point fitting larger throttle on a 4.0L or inlet manifold for that matter, unless stage 3 heads are fitted, save your money & fit fully flared / tapered trumpets & Tornado chip
BTW the carbon plenum compared to alloy ( with same size throttle) gave 5 lb + ft torque. probably not enough to notice the difference, so fare comment there, but well inside the "£100 per hp" guide often used on these forums. ( this is for the single throttle type)
On the subject of larger throttles, fitting to "small engine" 4.0L can loose torque but make the car feel faster due to sudden resonse.

With my 4L I have a 72mm throttle + 45mm trumpets flared + polished inlet manifold together with a fast road cam--all with MA Tornado chip. The response is greatly improved--but you are correct--the torque is SLIGHTLY(very slightly) down but the response makes it worth it. Another spin off is that the straight through exhaust no longer gives me a headache as the engine is quieter--merely loud instead of deafening. This must be tied up with the increased air inflow--perhaps one of you technical wizards could tell me why.
It is interesting that Mark Adams says that a larger air flow meter with a 4L gives a torque reduction also.
The exhaust noise is effected by the state of tune, the cam plays a large part in this, you will get more noise when the cam is at optimum " on cam", the standard is "on cam" at lower revs which generally makes them louder whilst cruising & general driving.
So yes the higher torque cams do create more exhaust noise.
