Anyone seen it, any good? Anyone read any reviews either? Thinking about taking a girl to see it tomorrow, not my cup of tea i'd assume but c'est la vie.

Cheers all,
Rob. :)

Haven't seen it but I think KK said something to the effect that your guaranteed some action that night if you take your girlfriend/wife. So might be worth sitting through

I can't see how they're going to improve on (or even come close to) the Jennifer Ehle / Colin Firth version. Having said that, Jennifer Ehle has recently been quoted as saying that everyone said of their version that it was pointless as the 1940 Laurence Olivier version couldn't be bettered, so who's to say really?

What the bloody hell is it all about anyway? I hate this kind of crap normally, is it going to be total shit or is it suprisingly alright if i go open minded?

Cheers,
Rob.

I have to go and see this movie too (the wife's idea) as long as Kiera Knightly spends most of the film Naked or semi-naked it won't be so bad.

Anyway - The Verdict.

Somehow i've missed everything to do with this, never seen the tv series or read the book etc so i'm probably one of the only people to see it who doesn't know the plot - which doesn't matter anyway because it's so obvious it makes your nose bleed. Apart from that it's suprisingly good - well acted, lovely scenery and some funny bits. Was a nice suprise to have Donald Sutherland in it aswell, one of my favourite actors.

Overall - 6 Horse Drawn Carriages out of 10. People who like this sort of thing will probably absoloutely love this film though - she did, which is the only reason i went anyway! )

Cheers,
Rob.

I'm sure it's complete pap.

The good news for followers of Ms Austen is that Tinsle Town will be gearing up for Mansfield Park - The Propriety Zone with Dolph Lundgren as Edmund and Wesley Snipes as Sir Thomas Bertram.

Fanny will naturally be played by Angelina Jollie (in trademark, period lycra hot pants) and director Joel Silva has promised fans an explosive fest not seen since Lethal Crouching Zero Storyline.

Having said that, the societal order that the vampish Austen described remains decidely preferable to the woeful chaos of the nation's current, rabble-friendly, classless ruin.

Ruddy vermin!

I watched the last few hours of the Jennifer Ehle / Colin Firth version last night on UK Gold. It was great.

I'm such a hopeless soft-in-the head romantic and any cred that I hitherto had on PH is probably now destroyed with this admission.
