Hi fellow F1 fans.

I'm very lucky in that i've been given some The Racing Green hospitality tickets for the upcoming Silverstone GP.
We're camping nearby & have a shuttle bus apparently from the campsite, whilst i expect it to be crazy busy, is there any tips, things to do/not to do from seasoned pro's?

It's my first Silverstone GP & also the first GP i'll be going to & i'm super excited & just looking to maximise the days, we've got the Sat + Sun tickets.

Thanks smile

Ok. So you’re camping on the village recreation field. (The SRA). The SRA has its own bar which is handy.
Your shuttle will no doubt drop you at the top of the High Street and you’ll then have a 15 minute walk to get into the circuit either by the National pit straight or behind Copse.
The shuttle service won’t be able to drop you off much closer than that without getting stuck in the one way system.
The only pedestrian access route from the village side of the A43 is up Winterhills on the route I’ve described. There is no pedestrian access over the Dadford Road bridge and into the front of the circuit.
Reason for telling you this is so you pack comfy shoes and of course clothing for all 4 seasons in one day as anything can happen with the weather - usually at different parts of the circuit at the same time.

As noted on the Spain GP thread, it does appear there’s still quite a few tickets left for Silverstone, in case anyone hasn’t made up their mind to go yet. Prices have definitely gone up quite a bit though.

Off topic from Spanish GP, and taken from X / Twitter....
That ticket is indeed still on sale.

A quick scoot says there’s 11 grandstands available, and 16 grandstands sold out. The grandstands on sale other than the pit straight are in the £550-£650 range for three days, and GA is a shocking-to-me £349

Indeed. That's pretty much what I've just paid for a week at Le Mans with camping and a seat in their best grandstand.

I went in 1991 and I seem to remember general admission was £40 for the Sunday and we just paid on the door.

A ticket to have watched the 1993 British GP would have cost you £108, and that's accounting for inflation.

I had a grandstand seat for the race in 1995 and think it was in the region of £100-£125.

Silverstone is getting mind boggling expensive but I was thinking about going again this year. It was the whole dynamic pricing things that killed it for me. That just seems like a particularly cruel way of punishing your most enthusiastic customers who book in the initial rush. Just left a bad taste.

That's steep considering I paid £370 for weekend grandstand seats.

I see Silverstone are blaming Max's "domination" for the lack of sales - Do they not have any mirrors there ??

It's on my bucket list, but at £500 per person bare minimum for something that is a 90 minute drive from me on a normal day is a tough thing to justify.

I paid £7.50 on the gate in 1979.

Adjusted for inflation that is £38 today...

Oh, and we got a BTCC round on the support bill as well!

And I hated it, never bothered with a GP again (My dad and I went after having a great time at Le Mans the previous month - we went back to Le Mans for 30+ years after that and I still go to WEC races now - Hypercars are so much better to watch than F1, IMHO) biggrin

The place looked reasonably ok yesterday on my walk - as opposed to the building site/prison camp it’s been most of the yr. The infield marquees are up and the container port/prison camp/hotel/apartments are all mostly complete. The rest of you know it as Escapade or whatever, personally I think of it more as HMP Felixstowe.
