Are these any good?

We have a bean to cup machine at home, thinking bags would be good when away. Less faffie than inevitable holiday rental cafeteria.

I take them camping. Can’t fault them for the convenience.

These were heavily advertised in recent times with "Why didn't they think of this before?"

Well they did - in the 1970s - and they flopped, hard!

I used to use the Lyons ones when camping, way better than instant, but I take a stove top espresso pot these days, more faff but nicer coffee.

I think an Aeropress is probably the next simplest option, you just drop the puck of coffee straight in to the bin so nowhere near as much hassle to clean as a cafetiere, and you can still use whatever coffee you want unlike a bag
