Discussion
Hi all, I have a 2015 F20, 120i with the 1.6 engine. It has 60k miles, always had regular oil changes, filters and plugs just done. Is there anything else you'd recommend changing at this mileage as I am increasingly tempted to keep it a few more years rather than change for something newer.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Manual or auto? Either way; get the box fluid changed and probably the diff tooThanks.
Seems you're doing about everything you can to keep it ship shape

It's a manual. Diff sounds like a good idea, I had the older 1 series a few years back and had to have the bearings replaced in the diff.

Frankly at that age I would make sure the cambelt if it has one is changed when its needed and service it every year. The service should also check it over not just drop the oil. Then it would be fix anything as and when its needed.
Thanks, these are a chain I believe, not sure what the interval is to change it but I am aware they can be costly if they break!ARHarh said:

Chain drivenBut a change of the aux belts is a good idea; check the pulleys over etc as well...
When was the cooling system last refreshed?

Actually the serpentine belt was done earlier this year, it was slipping a lot with all of the rain & floods but a new one sorted it. One thing I did notice when in that area was an electronic tensioner, I believe it is something to do with the water pump - do you know what it is called?
Cooling system - never!

Part numbers via www.RealOEM.com - put the last 7 digits of your VIN into the box at the top of the page and it'll bring up your car
Parts via Autodoc (Febi Bilstein is OEM - you'll see the BMW roundel ground off on the parts)!
This was the stat housing for my F31; you can see at the top of it where it's been ground off:

I'd overhaul that; full coolant flush and refill (Comma G48)
