Ordered a 225KW from carparison and have a few questions if anyone could help. Started a new topic rather than clog up the deals thread.

I'm already with Octopus on standard tariff. I guess it makes sense to move to Intelligent Go or one of the others plans. It seems it only works with certain chargers. Can anyone advise?

Which charger do you have or do you plan to get? I'm looking for the cheapest charger that works with Octopus. Ideally untethered so it's a bit neater on the side of the house.

Thanks

Hi Steve

You might be better off putting this in the EV section. Funnily enough, I've got an MR2 and awaiting delivery of an Ariya. Should be with us in a couple of weeks, looking forward to it.

Yes I thought I might have come to the wrong section. Thanks. MR2 is a great car. I have 2 of the things. Haha

Haha well it would be rude not. Toyota actively encouraged it with the name. Which model do you have? I've got a mk3.

Nice. The Ariya is certainly going to be quite a contrast to the MR2's isn't it

I think a practical electrical daily works well and something more fun to drive when the mood takes you. It makes the fun car feel like a go kart in comparison.

I currently have a hybrid and whilst the petrolhead in me wants to dislike electric cars, I do prefer the quiet and smoothness of an electric drivetrain.

Posted this on the lease deals thread but wanted to intro myself o nhere.

I just FTK on a Nissan ARIYA e-4ORCE 87kWh EVOLVE gunmetallic on a 3+23 10k miles through leasing options at £480/month.

I could have got the lower spec one which was a better deal but im pretty happy, putting this one through my business so I'll be significantly better off once I've got rid of the discovery sport we've have on a loan. Will be saving about 90 quid a month on insurance, 16 quid a month on tax and and 150-250 a month on fuel too, plus no MOTs and repairs to fund I know it's not a mega deal but i want the worry free motoring for the next two years.

Wil have to install a charger but if we move to octopus its about 50 quid a month cheaper like for like (not using an electric car) but happy to be paying more on electric either way.

Finally will need to install a charge but the ohme pro i think is £650 a month because of a £350 grant.

Hopefully the roofbox i purchased last week for the disco sport with clamps will work on the Ariya!

I wasn’t sure about it at first but it suits my use of it.

My favourite bit is the adaptive cruise when in traffic. Negative is how firm the suspension is.

Prepare for people wanting to ask you about it.

I've just come from a Cupra Ateca, the suspension in the NIssan is nice and soft in comparison biggrin
Had adaptive cruise in that as well, like you say, very handy.

One more question I've got is around the Nissan Connect Services - I'm following the instructions but I don't get the same menus as the instructions are telling me -

I get to step 4 where I need to get the pairing code:

All apps widget > NissanConnect Services > Information Channels > Info from Nissan > Account Information > Car Pairing Code.

Here is what I get:

All apps widget > NissanConnect Services > Information Channel Settting > "other stuff"

Am I doing it wrong? Is the service not enabled?

This got resolved - I was in the wrong place in the system - all connected now.

What's everyone's initial thoughts?

I'm just waiting to be given my reg, so I can get it insured, and then it's supposed to arrive in the next two weeks - watched pretty much every vid about it and I am super excited.

I haven't had a car since the Leon Cupra lease deal ended in 2022.

As a side note, I've never bothered looking at energy suppliers, so I investigated Octopus, like for like my bill is about £70 a month cheaper than it was with British gas, so as long as I don't put £70 quid of electricity into my car each month I'm saving money there too! I'm not too bothered about this but thought it was interesting!

Had our Ariya about a week now and I'm really impressed. Some of the menus are a bit confusing to work out at first and the intelligent cruise doesn't feel that intelligent but once you get used to it, everything works really well.

This is our first EV so the power delivery is the biggest change, no waiting for the engine or gearbox - instant torque surge. Whilst not as quick as some (Tesla/Hyundai N) it's plenty and can get you into silly territory very quickly.

Overall it's really well put together and feels nicely planted, still getting used to the handling in combination with e-pedal but that's just practice. Only things missing are sunroof (not bothered) and memory seats but first world problems right!

On a 1+23 deal for £384/month it's a bargain as it will save us £100/month on fuel costs when combined with an EV tarriff!

That’s mega, congratulations.

Just confirmed delivery for this tuesday.

I have a 6 week wait for a charger to be installed in my house. possibly a stupid question, Do I need to buy a 3 pin charger off amazon or do any charging cables come with the car?

Chris
