Well folks, I am going to be working in Brissle during the weeks for a year, need a place to hang my suit, crash and generally hovel it during the week. Somewhere to park a wagon would be advantageous. Won't be there weekends or school holidays.

This week would be ideal, I'm going to be B&B'ing it for a few days but ideally would like to hook up with some petrolheads/jazz musicians/surfers for decent banter. Looking for somewhere cheapish as all the money I save needs to go on a spangly gearbox and head for the mini! :D

Any ideas would be appreciated. Stu

Got details on a few places I was looking at before I took the flat somewhere in the office.. Will dig them out when I'm back..

If you take a wander over to the SW forum, you'll see we get together for a beer and curry once a month. I'm sure some of the regulars could be tempted into popping out for a beer mid week.

So, how do we go about gettign our hands on your home made octane booster?

Did you add that "Good Chap" comment a long time ago or just before posting the request?

I will be moving out in six weeks, so there will be a room here (Sneyd Park). Petrolhead household. Dunno if you can wait that long though...

From what I remember there are loads of rooms for rent looking for young boys...you can tell the ones as they have rainbow flags in the windows.

God help you...I got out after a year...just make sure you do the same!!!

Friday edition of the Bristol Evening Post has all the accomodation adverts. plenty of rooms available throughout the city. Bedminster/Southville/Brislington/ are all quite cheap and not too bad. Clifton, Westbury and Redland are very nice, lots of students, bars et al but ££££s. Ashley Down/Bishopston and the close surrounding area is full of students so a bit £££ but loads of rooms around and the area is quite nice. lots of cafes etc... Avoid Southmead/Easton/St Pauls and Knowle like the plague. Happy to advise over a curry!....

www.bristolmc.org.uk for random banter about cars etc, bristol pistonheads meetings seem to be an active bunch but not actually met them yet.....

Hardy-har-har Emma, I assume you are talking about dining table engine rebuilds? Sadly, I have ditched my coarse cadness to be a ladied-gentleman

I've got a mate who's a surfer/biker/engineer/cornishman who lives in Bristol. Not sure that he's got any spare space but a night out with him is never a dull one.

I could give you his email addy if you want.
