I had posted this across on the FB Tuscan page, so apologies to those who have already seen it.

I made up a batch of Window encoders some time ago and now have 10 pairs left.

They are all fully tested and conformal coated to help with any moisture problems that 'might' affect our cars occasionally....

Prior to just listing the remainder on Ebay if anyone here is interested, please drop me a message or post below.

They are £45 for a pair including P&P

Wow, good job, I have a new one ready to fit that I paid £50 for i think, so 2 for the same price is an cracking deal. I am temped to get a pair just as spares.

Are these for MK1 Tuscans only? What do the T-Cars use, the later version that the Tuscan Mk2 uses?

Thanks Rich. They are compatible with the Tuscan 2 - not sure about the other T cars though. When I first went about fixing my original that had gone faulty, it seemed an easy (ish) task to knock a batch up. At the time there were no spare stock with suppliers.

The later factory versions of the earlier Bosch motor matched encoders were simply hot glued over to negate any water getting at them and as an anti-vibration of the soldered wires.
Then the along with the later cars having a different encoder the T cars with SME motors have an integral magnetic ring on the armature (top in my picture along with the early and late versions) again this is potted in later versions.

Thanks Adrian. I'm sure the magnetic version on later cars would prove more reliable over time. When I removed my faulty encoder it had the same hot glue/potting compound as in your picture. Although time had not served it well as it had started to degrade into a sticky gel.

I opted for an acrylic conformal coating, which would normally help against moisture / condensation. Mine is a 2000 car, so I can't really grumble that the original only lasted 24 years! smile

Hi Nick, have sent you a private message.
Sorry! My initial reaction was that it was a scam.. I didn't recognise the address.

OK, I'll open the message and proceed.

I would be interested just replaced the drivers side with the Racetec potted on for £90 so I guess the passenger one will need doing soon and this will give me a spare at 1/2 the price
