Hi all,
Chimaera taught me a new lesson this week....
i.e. when the fuel gauge gets to empty, the tank is actually empty - not like on my old car where, empty means you've probably got a gallon or so left. In fact it didn't even reach the empty line. Only had the car about 3 months and before I get flamed - I know it's bad to let the tank get low.
So, anyone any thoughts on whether damage will have been done to the CATs or injectors?

Be thankful yours reads empty whan it's empty. Mine reads 1/8th of a tank when there's no juice left (I found out the hard way 2 days after buying my Chimp 450 when it ran dry 3 miles from home - fortunately only 200 yards from a petrol station).

As far as I know a weak mixture will eventually damage the CAT but running out of petrol once shouldn't do any serious damage as the mixture will only be weak for a few seconds.

Best advise I can give is to fill up when you get to 1/4 tank and avoid the problem completely.
