Managed to buy my first Chimaera and a set of Raceline RL7s, all within the space of a week! Can anyone advise if I can get the following spec to work on a 98 Chimaera and what tyre sizes to go for.
Rims:
ET30 front and rear
17 x 8 front and rear
The rims are a massive 17.5mm further in and 7.5mm further out compared to standard. I was therefore looking at a 12mm spacer to push them further out, which would mean +19.5mm further out than standard (7.5mm + 12mm). If I reduced the steering travel, do you think these would fit and with 19.5mm further out, would the rim face stick out past the arch lip? I have one photo of a Chimaera with RL7s that seems to be almost flush with the arches as below, but don't know what physical distance that would be. Any help appreciated.

Great choice!
I have RL7s on my 98 Chimaera 500 too, 17x7 (ET25) front, and 18x8 (ET25) on the rear. For me the fitment is perfect without the need for spacers.
Do bear in mind that if you go for spacers, anything bigger than 7mm will need longer wheel studs. I have longer studs on mine, but don’t use spacers.

Not a Chimp, I went from the 25mm offset of the standard wheels on an S to a 0mm offset wheels (same size) and they just filled the arches better.
I would fit them and see what they look like - where the wheels sit etc .. Check for rubbing on the chassis and suspension. You may want to try 5mm spacers on them as this size is 'OK'.
Don't forget the wheels are an inch wider which will effect the offset / positioning in the arch.
Geo set up following that. TVRs work best with the '2Live Crew' set up. Followed plenty of Chimps, Griefs and Cerbs through Paddock Hill Bend last week at the TVRCC trackday. Loads were 'scrubbing' the passenger side rear tyre at the bottom of the hill. You guys must have money to burn on tyres
ETA: NIce choice on wheels. The wheel for Cerbs in my humble onion. These or Ford RS for Griefs or Chimps.

Yes, will probably be the best bet, although they don't have tyres, so won't be able to lower it down hence trying to get a bit of background info. The most unexpected issue that I had with fitment was the thickness of the fiberglass on the arches on mine. Normally you can roll the arch to have the wheel sitting out a little more but mine were proper chunky and obviously you can't grind them back. I managed to delaminate a bit of the top of the arch turning on full lock in a grass carpark so beware of any rubbing, I ended up buying multiple sizes of spacers and returning the ones that I didn't use.
