Ah - just looked at Cable Shack website and it said all cable sales suspended due to supplier issues.Any alternatives?
Thanks.
My pal Chris who uses INPA for his E39 M5 has said try this; he's had no issues as already has INPA/NCS installed etc:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/OTKEFDI-Ediabas-Expert-Di...
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B098DC49MP/ref...
This one works well for me.
Works with INPA and several other bits of software.
Now if only I could work out how to write to a combi unit.

Thanks. I was looking at that website: I was under the impression I just downloaded some sofftware, pugged the laptop in, and got a readout of error codes. It seems like it's more comlicated than that judging by what's on sale there (HDDs etc).I have a cheap Amazon special OBD reader, but it gives zero detail about the codes I'm getting. I need more detail to be able to figure out what's going on, and thought INPA would be the best bet accrding to the forums.
Any advice fr a first time INPA user? Are there any decent "how to" guides for getting started?
Thanks.

Its pretty straightforward. i think he is selling the HDD's preloaded so folk can just slot them into a laptop (i dont know why, but there must be a market)
If you have INPA already, just ask him if his cable will be compatable - they are usb at one end & the std obd2 at the other.
I don’t have INPA already (not sure where to get it). I was a bit alarmed to read in the linked website that it can take hours to set up before you can use it - hence the pre-set up hard drive. If you have INPA already, just ask him if his cable will be compatable - they are usb at one end & the std obd2 at the other.
Surely it can’t be that difficult if it’s just a diagnostic tool to read error codes?
Mine is installed on a laptop, was a bit of a pain to do - this was 10 years ago and I’m no computer geek.

Martin has a great reputation is very helpful (though I’ve not personally used him). He also sells the cable on his website.
Message him, I’m sure to sort you out.

INPA is easy enough, there used to be a set of tools from Bimmergeeks but it looks like they've been taken down.
